Maya Organics METALLLL
Lately, I've been on a metal kick and I'd have to say one of the best metal jewelry producers is Maya Organics. Watch out, because this post is going to be image heavy:
Gold plated brass with Chrysocolla, about 3" diameter. All the color in this piece is giving me a painful hard-on.
6g Silver, 1.5" diameter curved feather (fucking love it).
2g sterling silver with red coral heart, about 2.5" diameter. God, I love these. I'm not so sure how you wear them, but I am a total fan of simplicity with a shot of color.
Miao tribe repro. 0g sterling silver, about 3" diameter. Lots of organic jewelry companies do reproductions of traditional tribal jewelry, the majority of which is either miao hill tribe or mayan inspired. I like this repro bc it's clean and maintains the antiquity of the original which looks something like this:
Obviously, the original is not as ornate, nor as polished. The lines definitely aren't as clean. I'm not sure which I would prefer if given the opportunity to own a pair in this style. I'm kind of into the shiny dramatics of the Maya version.
Next up, a post dedicated to dong hoops, because i'm obsessed with them and there are 15 million different repro styles. I'd like to do an examination on repros in general when I get a chance. Not today though :) I need to do a post on some jewelry I acquired recently!

Crazy Lace Agate teardrops, custom work, and TILT
I saw these and my mouth LITERALLY started watering. I know it's a tinge dramatic but... well fuck you. 1" Mexican Crazy Lace Agate. So fucking hot, I don't feel like a douche saying it in my best Paris Hilton voice. Or that I just referenced her at all since that's kind of 5 years ago.
Whatever, I was never cool.
I actually just messaged Relic about possibly doing a custom job for me in this material except mayan flared. I hope that mayan flared teardrops would work because I need this stone in my life.
You hear me?
I NEED IT.
My big issue is that at 1/2", my stone options are pretty slim. You can't see any beautiful striations or anything at 1/2". Yet, I don't want to stretch bigger because that means that I can't wear all that dangley shit I'm obsessed with.
Speaking of which:
These fine beauties made specially for me by Mark at heartonsleeve are just waiting for my paycheck to clear. 1/2" bloodwood cbr's with an ivorywood bead. 3.25" diameter. THEY'RE GONNA BE SO BIG I'M SO EXCITED!
So now, being that it's Thursday, is a small list of things I love:
gold rutilated quartz (as shown above in all it's glory), opinionated discussions about unimportant topics where no opinion is too ridiculous and delicately balances on the edge of going completely out of control, cheek pain from too much laughing, 1/2 price margaritas, fresh laundry smell, expensive cheese from whole foods, finding secret treasures on etsy, skipping class and knowing i'll still be alright, letting old grudges go, dates where you know it's not going anywhere but you genuinely enjoy one another's company for an evening, the quiet section of the library, comic books, tootsie rolls.

Pause: Things I Love Thursday
So we are going to pause on the jewelry goodness so I can be posi just for a few minutes:
Thing I love:
Chai tea made the right way: Ok seriously, until you've had chai made indian style, you haven't had it. Steeped in 1/2 hot water, 1/2 milk with a shit ton of sugar... mmmmmmmmmm.
French pop music: Now that I work at a creperie, this is all I hear. And it's like corny 80's french euro-pop. I adore it, probably because I don't understand it.
The Walking Dead: OH DEAR LORD HOW GOOD IS THIS??? I'm a fan of the comic and AMC did it right with a few extras thrown in for those of us already familiar with the story line.
Everything else: when cloudy days suddenly turn sunny. latte art. getting packages (WITH TIGER EBONY OVAL HOOPS IN THEM!!! pics later). Tiger ebony over hoops (haha). Black bean quesadillas from Whole Foods. The table near the fireplace. Sister time. Jackass 3D. Knitted berets. The moment you realize that friendship is awesome. How electric guitars sound when they're not plugged in. Warm beds. Remembering good times with a psychopath dog, even though it didn't really work out in the end. Good grades. Knitting for babies.

Anatometal single stone teardrop eyelets
I INTENSELY WANT THESE.
that is all.
... Kinda. I usually hate how teardrop styles look in-ear below 1". But I'm at 1/2" and even I would wear these at my size.
P.S. (I've sucked at posting lately between my new job and school. No worries, I'll be back with a vengeance, like Bruce Wilis.)

Wood oval fix: An ironic update
Yesterday I posted a whole tirade about how hard it is to find tiger ebony oval hoops.
BUT LO, AND BEHOLD:
BUT LO, AND BEHOLD:
Diablo Organics Tiger Ebony oval hoops. Well don't I feel like an ass.
You win BAF, you win. I don't even feel bad for letting you take my money on this one.

Wood oval fix
Ok so I know I just went on a rant about originality and how bored I get of traditional shapes in organic jewelry... but sometimes I just want something simple, but bold. Like tiger ebony oval hoops (I know I'm still on this tiger ebony tip. It's not going away anytime soon. Just wait for my post about the spools I'm planning.)
But apparently it's really fucking difficult to find tiger ebony oval hoops that aren't custom made. I've been trolling bodyartforms for the better part of the morning trying to figure out if I should just get a pair of black ebony ones but the more I argue with myself about it, the more I realize that plain black ebony just ain't gonna cut it.
I have issues.
But listen! I just want to mash these two pictures together:
WHY CANT YOU DO THAT JIMMY? (he can probably do it. i just don't feel like asking and would rather get my instant fix from BAF)
oh, speaking of diablo organics and also from a plug porn perspective, how fucking cool are these:
Hand carved mammoth fossil. Makes me want to stretch to 1 1/16" just to wear these beauties.
