Maya Organics METALLLL

Lately, I've been on a metal kick and I'd have to say one of the best metal jewelry producers is Maya Organics. Watch out, because this post is going to be image heavy:

Gold plated brass with Chrysocolla, about 3" diameter. All the color in this piece is giving me a painful hard-on.

6g Silver, 1.5" diameter curved feather (fucking love it).

2g sterling silver with red coral heart, about 2.5" diameter. God, I love these. I'm not so sure how you wear them, but I am a total fan of simplicity with a shot of color.

Miao tribe repro. 0g sterling silver, about 3" diameter. Lots of organic jewelry companies do reproductions of traditional tribal jewelry, the majority of which is either miao hill tribe or mayan inspired. I like this repro bc it's clean and maintains the antiquity of the original which looks something like this:

Obviously, the original is not as ornate, nor as polished. The lines definitely aren't as clean. I'm not sure which I would prefer if given the opportunity to own a pair in this style. I'm kind of into the shiny dramatics of the Maya version.

Next up, a post dedicated to dong hoops, because i'm obsessed with them and there are 15 million different repro styles. I'd like to do an examination on repros in general when I get a chance. Not today though :) I need to do a post on some jewelry I acquired recently!
